My Story
Hello,
I'm Chris Tumbridge, founder of Crafting Wood. ​

What started as a hobby during the COVID-19 pandemic quickly became a passion, a journey of learning, discovery and now a career. I love exploring the unique characteristics of different woods and turning them into beautiful, functional pieces for your home.

I'm committed to growing my skills and my business. I've completed courses with Waters & Acland fine furniture making, advanced joinery, furniture and cabinetry making as well as health and safety in the construction industry and I'm always on the lookout for new techniques, skills and challenges.
​
During my work, demand grew for other skills including plastering, kitchen installations, wood flooring, painting and decorating, repairs and new installations.
Based in Falmouth, Cornwall, I live with my wife and nearby our two grown-up children. When I'm not in my workshop or on a job site, you can find me enjoying the Cornish coastline, listening to live music or making some of my own!
